Display a black screen
Start with pure #000000. Displaying black does not switch off your monitor or guarantee a reduction in power use.
Press Escape to exit. Move the pointer or tap the screen to bring back the Exit button.
Keep a display visually dark without turning it off
Fill the current display with a #000000 field while the browser remains running. This can cover an unused second monitor or provide a dark surface for visual inspection. Enter fullscreen, recall the hidden controls when needed and exit without changing system display settings. This page does not switch the panel off, lock the computer or diagnose hardware. Use the dedicated backlight bleed workflow for guided LCD edge-light observation.
Ways to use the black screen
Cover a second monitor while another display remains in use.
Observe a dark field for bright points or reflections.
Compare black with a custom solid color.
How to show a black screen on a second monitor
Use the browser window on the intended display. A black page covers content without changing the monitor connection.
Move the window before entering fullscreen
Drag the window to the monitor you want to cover, keep #000000 selected and start. The other monitor remains available for your normal work; this page does not move itself across displays.
Recall the exit controls
Move the pointer or tap to show the controls. Escape exits the tool, including its full-window fallback. Avoid interpreting a hidden toolbar as a frozen computer.
Choose the right inspection workflow
A dark patch can be affected by room reflections, viewing angle and panel type. Use Backlight Bleed Test for a guided LCD check, or Dead Pixel Test to compare a fixed bright point across several colors.

Everything you need before your next download.
Does a black webpage turn my screen off?
No. The browser and display remain active. This tool changes the visible content; power use depends on the panel technology and device settings.
Is this a fix for a computer that only shows a black screen?
No. This is an intentional black display tool. It cannot repair startup failures, display cables, graphics drivers or operating-system problems.
