Work through three monitor checks
Follow 12 views: five pixel colors, three gray levels and four gradient ramps. Move through them manually and note your own observations.

Follow one sequence for pixels, gray fields and gradients
Inspect several visible display characteristics in one guided sequence. Start with five black, white and RGB pixel fields, continue through 5%, 50% and 100% gray levels, then compare gray, red, green and blue gradients. The workflow shows the current group and progress and lets you move between steps. It does not measure physical contrast, color accuracy, response time or panel health. Use the dedicated tools for a more focused check or the LCD backlight workflow for edge-light observations.

How to follow the guided monitor inspection
The combined workflow keeps a consistent sequence. Each stage answers a different visual question rather than generating a single health score.
Begin with the five pixel fields
Inspect black, white, red, green and blue in order. Look across the full area and compare any fixed point at the same physical location. Use the visible stage and step count to keep track of progress.
Continue through three gray fields
Compare 5%, 50% and white at a steady viewing angle. These are encoded gray levels, not measured brightness percentages. The field stays uniform so the controls do not become part of the observation.
Finish with four gradients and review
Inspect gray and individual RGB ramps, keeping display settings stable. Use Back to revisit a field and restart the sequence if useful. Completing all twelve steps records navigation progress, not an automatic pass or hardware diagnosis.

Monitor Test: questions & answers
Everything you need before your next download.
What does the twelve-step test include?
Five black, white and RGB fields, three gray levels at 5%, 50% and 100%, and four gray/RGB gradients. You control the sequence manually and can review a previous step.
Does completing the sequence mean my monitor passed?
No. Completion only means you reached the end of the visual workflow. The page cannot certify hardware quality or decide whether an observed difference is a fault.
