Check pixels across five colors

Inspect each black, white, red, green and blue screen. Advance when you are ready; colors never cycle or flash automatically.

Optional. Your normal screen timeout applies.

Press Escape to exit. Move the pointer or tap the screen to bring back the Exit button.

Check individual pixels across black, white and RGB fields

Run a five-step visual check on the display you are using. Black, white, red, green and blue fields help make different pixel or subpixel irregularities visible. Advance each color manually, inspect the whole surface and complete or restart the sequence. The website cannot read your panel electronics or see physical defects through a screenshot. It provides test colors and instructions; observations remain yours and no automatic fault count is produced.

Ways to use the dead pixel test

Inspect a new monitor during an initial visual check.

Compare a fixed dark or colored point across RGB fields.

Repeat the same five-color sequence on another display.

How to inspect pixels using five color fields

A test field helps a physical irregularity stand out. It cannot decide a warranty result or certify the panel.

Inspect the surface before interpreting a point

Use the normal viewing position and distinguish dust or marks on the surface from a point that appears within the image. Start the fullscreen check so surrounding page elements do not distract from the field.

Advance through black, white, red, green and blue

Inspect the full area on every step. White can reveal dark points, black can reveal persistently bright points, and the RGB steps help compare individual color channels. Use the next and previous controls rather than skipping straight to completion.

Compare the same location and repeat

Look at the same physical position across colors. A browser screenshot usually captures the rendered image rather than a defective panel pixel, so it cannot prove the defect. Keep your own notes and consult the display manufacturer for warranty terms.

Dead Pixel Test: questions & answers

Everything you need before your next download.

Does the page automatically detect dead pixels?

No. You look at the physical display while the page shows test colors. The browser cannot identify a panel defect from its own rendered pixels.

Will the test repair a stuck or dead pixel?

No. This tool is an observation workflow with manual color changes. It does not flash rapidly or claim to repair damaged pixels.
