Choose image dimensions for a 4K wallpaper or social post

Pixel dimensions describe the width and height of the exported file. A 3840 × 2160 image is a common UHD 4K canvas with a 16:9 aspect ratio. A 1080 × 1920 portrait canvas uses the same proportions rotated vertically, making it a practical starting point for stories or phone backgrounds.

These presets are convenient starting points, not promises about current platform upload requirements. Social services can resize or crop images, and phone wallpaper placement can vary with display settings. Check the destination's preview and use custom dimensions whenever your project has an exact specification.

Square, portrait and landscape image aspect ratios

A 1080 × 1080 canvas has a 1:1 square ratio. A 1080 × 1350 canvas is 4:5 portrait, while 1080 × 1920 is 9:16 vertical. Both 1920 × 1080 Full HD and 3840 × 2160 UHD 4K use 16:9. The same ratio can have many pixel sizes, so match the ratio first and then choose enough pixels for the destination.

For example, a layout that is 800 pixels wide at 16:9 needs 450 pixels of height. Use the aspect ratio calculator when one dimension is known. Changing an existing image to a different ratio requires a choice: crop away edges, add a background around it, or stretch its contents. The resizer provides those fit options when the ratio is unlocked.

Match a phone wallpaper to your screen and crop preview

Phone models and display settings use different wallpaper crops. The named phone presets below identify specific example devices, not every iPhone or Galaxy model. If your screen dimensions differ, enter a custom width and height in the phone wallpaper generator. Keep text and pattern details away from the clock, camera area and edges.

After downloading, apply the wallpaper and inspect the lock screen and home screen. A phone can zoom or reposition the same file differently in each view. A plain color remains consistent when cropped; text and geometric features need a margin around them.

Image pixel limits and printable size

The generator accepts up to 8192 pixels on either side and 33,554,432 pixels in total. The 7680 × 4320 8K preset fits inside that total; 8192 × 8192 does not. Large exports also need available memory on your device. Reduce both dimensions if a preview or download fails.

Pixels alone do not define a physical paper size. At a chosen print density of 300 pixels per inch, 1200 × 1800 pixels corresponds to 4 × 6 inches. Your print dialog can scale the result, so inspect paper size, margins and scaling before printing graph paper or lined paper. For a web upload limit stated in KB, adjust compression or format as well as dimensions.
