Make a subtle dot-grid background with custom spacing and colors for journals, planning, and lettering practice.
Free to use. No signup or watermark.A dot grid provides alignment cues while leaving more open space than full graph lines. Create a dotted image for a digital bullet journal, a planning page, or a lettering guide. Adjust the spacing and dot color to keep the guide as subtle as you need, and choose a portrait, landscape, or custom-size canvas before downloading. Use the dot grid paper generator for bullet journal backgrounds when you want alignment without connected lines; A4, A5 and Letter presets supply page proportions.

Sketch a wireframe with light alignment markers.
Dot spacing and dot radius are independent settings. Together they determine whether the page feels open enough for handwriting, sketches, or planning.
An A5-proportioned 1748 × 2480 image is useful for a digital notebook page. Choose spacing based on how large the page will appear in your notes app. A fine grid can become crowded when the whole page is reduced to a small tablet view.
Use a light gray or muted blue and a small radius so the dots guide alignment without dominating the page. The radius control describes pixels, not a physical pen size. The dots repeat regularly; changing the canvas dimensions changes how many fit on the page.
A printer or notes app can resize the image. If you need a physical 5 mm grid, set a known print size, measure a sample, and adjust rather than assuming the pixel preset guarantees millimeters. If dots disappear in a printout, try a slightly darker color or larger radius.

Dot grids mark regularly spaced positions without connecting them with lines. This provides a guide for alignment while keeping the background visually light.
Choose a lighter dot color and increase the spacing if needed. Preview the image at the size you plan to use, because a scaled-down preview can make a dense grid look different.

A soft sunset gradient or a quiet wash of color can make a screen feel like yours. Choose a 4K desktop canvas or a portrait phone size, then build a wallpaper around your own palette.
Leave room for your ideas with a white canvas, or set the tone with a simple gradient. Start at 1920 × 1080, then add your title in a slide app or use the background for a project cover.
