Make a transparent PNG canvas with optional text, borders, and adjustable overlay opacity.
Free to use. No signup or watermark.Prepare a transparent PNG for an overlay or compositing workflow. Keep the canvas empty, or add centered text and a border while leaving the surrounding pixels see-through. The opacity control adjusts visible artwork without adding a background. Export as PNG or another transparency-supporting format, then place the result above an image in your editor. For a transparent text overlay, add your label while leaving the canvas transparent; unlike the empty blank-image tool, this workflow can include visible artwork.

Create a centered text label or a simple frame with transparent surroundings, then place the exported PNG above a photograph, video still or slide in your own editor.
Select Transparent, enter the dimensions of your composition, and add a short text label. Set its color and font size, or use border width and border color to create a frame. The text is centered on the canvas; use your destination editor to position the exported layer within a larger composition. Keep text and borders empty only when you want an empty PNG instead.
PNG is a practical choice for an alpha-enabled raster file. JPEG cannot keep transparent pixels and is composited over white in this generator. A file viewer may show transparency as white, black, or a checkerboard, so its background alone does not prove the file is opaque.
The opacity control applies to the visible artwork, including text and borders, while the surrounding pixels remain transparent. Check the PNG over both a dark and a light surface so the lettering stays visible where you need it. This tool creates a new overlay; it does not remove a background from an existing photo.
